What are clear braces?

Clear braces use clear ceramic brackets instead of metal ones. This clear material helps your treatment blend in with your teeth when you smile. At Harpenden Orthodontics, we use Damon clear braces which have impressively small brackets that use self-ligation technology.

How do self-ligating braces work?

Self-ligating braces use special brackets that don’t require any elastics to hold the archwire in place. This means your archwire can slide freely during treatment which allows for fewer office visits (since the braces can self-adjust) and increased comfort for the patient.
