Mary McGovern

Practice Manager

Mary McGovern has been working in dentistry for over twenty years. She helps to ensure the smooth day to day running of the practice, providing support to the dental team and ensuring compliance with all guidelines and regulations, she is registered with the General Dental Council.

Mary is always available to give help and advise our patients and is happy to answer any questions you may have. She welcomes all feedback.

Claire Moore

Orthodontic Therapist

Claire joined Harpenden Orthodontics in 2003 as an Orthodontic Nurse. She then went on to become a Private Orthodontic Nurse for Dr Pieter van Heerden and a Senior Orthodontic Nurse.

In 2005, she gained her NVQ level 3 in Dental Nursing; her Certificate in Dental Radiography 2011, and in 2010 she qualified in Oral Health Education. In 2011, Claire won one of just 16 places at the University of Central Lancashire to study for her diploma in Orthodontic Therapy and obtained her diploma in Orthodontic Therapy from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in July 2012.

Eloise van Heerden

Eloise joined Harpenden Orthodontics in 2012 and initially spent time in the management and treatment coordinator teams. In 2014, she gained her diploma in Dental Nursing. She completed her Certificate in Dental Radiography and Certificate in Orthodontic Nursing in 2015.

Eloise won a place at Warwick University, one of just 10 available, and graduated with her Diploma in Orthodontic Therapy in August 2016 and received an outstanding student award.

Louise McLeod

Louise joined Harpenden Orthodontics in 2013. In 2015, she gained her diploma in Dental Nursing. She completed her Certificate in Dental Radiography in 2016 and Certificate in Orthodontic Nursing in 2019. Louise has won one of just 10 places to study Orthodontic Therapy in Leamington Spa.
