At Harpenden Orthodontics, we use a cutting-edge iTero 3D scanner to capture a high-resolution 3D map of your teeth. This allows us to easily develop your custom treatment plan without the need for any physical moulds.

How does the iTero scanner work?

Instead of using messy bite moulds, the iTero scanner utilises a small handheld wand to take photos of your teeth. This wand can take thousands of images in just seconds, allowing us to swiftly create a 3D digital model of your smile.

Catch a glimpse of the future

After taking a detailed scan of your mouth, digital planning software is used to assess your teeth and plan the best location for them. Once this plan has been made, we can give you a preview of how your smile will look once you’ve completed your treatment!

iTero scanning with clear aligners

Our clear aligner treatments are powered by the highly detailed scans taken by our iTero scanner. Once your smile simulation has been created, your bespoke aligner treatment can be planned and a set of clear aligners can be custom-manufactured to fit your teeth.
